There is something just unbelievably soft, cuddly, and lovable about baby penguins- in fact, the only thing more sweet in this world (besides kittens, puppies, and other baby animals) is the blissfully sleeping form of your newborn son or daughter nestled in the crook of your arm. If you’re planning a nursery while waiting for that magical moment when you hold your little one for the first time, and are choosing not to find out if your angel is a boy or girl (or both, if you’re expecting twins), you’ll be happy to know that you can create a look that is simple, easy, and perfect for either one. Ditch the generic pastel yellow, or that blue that might just be too boyish for a little girl, or that lilac that might be a little too girly for a little boy, and go penguin instead! First, select simple furniture in a light wood or white, add an ‘ice-floe’ style floor lamp or similar accessory, and leave the room’s walls a glossy or semi-matte white. This look is especially suited to rooms with wood floors-consider adding a few fluffy area rugs to cushion those night you spend pacing the floor with a colicky baby.
